The Oil City Crew had an amazing experience (despite the rain!) at this years Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver. Our semi-competitive/recreational team, the OCC Weed Whackers, raced hard and were proud to make it into the Recreational C Championship finals! Next year we intend to return to the festival with a semi-competitive/recreational team as well as full competitive team to challenge for the top divisions.
This experience would have not been possible without the support and participation of our guest paddlers and steer from Regina, Calgary, and Vancouver. A huge thank you to you all!
And a huge thank you to our host team the Dreadnought Dragon Boat Team! Your warm welcome and hospitality are true examples of the sportsmanship and camaraderie within the dragon boat community!
